July 30: Pig & Swig Festival
Barbecue, beer, and bourbon – oh my! Stop by the Power & Light District for this unforgettable event.
If you like local brew and live music, this is where it's at. Experience all that the festival has to offer at the Berkley Riverfront Park.
Aug 1-6: Johnson County Fair
Come down to Gardner and check out the 4H tents, carnival rides, live music, and a few of your favorite fried fair foods.
Aug 5-7 & 12-14: Powell Gardens Festival of Butterflies
See these little beauties in a whole new way during the butterfly festival in Kingsville. Not only can you take in the amazing butterfly exhibit, there is face painting for the kids, trolley rides, and storytelling sessions.
Aug 19-21: Parkville Days
Visit this charming town just north of the city and experience a weekend of live music, crafts, and food that you will keep you coming back every year.
Aug 20: Farewell To Summer Free Day at National Museum of Toys & Miniatures
If you haven't had a chance to go, this is the day to visit this unique museum for free!
Aug 20-21: SnowZoo
With temperatures steadily climbing, everyone will look forward to a little snow at the zoo on this special weekend. Live vicariously as the polar bears play in the snow and river otters explore an ice sculpture.
