After the holidays I am always eager to get things put away and back into routine. However, I always feel like my home looks a bit empty after all my pretty holiday décor is packed up so I always try and do a bit of winter decorating. The truth is that there is a long way to go until spring and taking the time to add a bit of colorful touches to the home in winter can do wonders for the soul.
We often spend more time in our homes in the winter so it is very important to me to have touches of green and outdoor elements included in my décor. Maybe it is because I secretly long to be outdoors. Evergreens such as cedar, juniper, and pine are often readily available, along with other organics like pinecones, seed pods, and river stones.
Including metallic in winter decorating can also be fun. Golds and silver are often used in holiday decorating but with a few small changes can easily transition to winter, so don’t pack up those golds and silvers just yet! By including a selection of fresh blooms, along with some organic touches a beautiful and fresh winter décor can keep me hopeful that spring will indeed come.
